NAJRAN – Two people, including a security officer, were killed and eight others injured in Houthi shell attacks in Najran on Tuesday, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Captain Mashhour Al-Qahtani was killed and three of his colleagues injured when they were struck by mortar shells fired from the Yemen side at around 9.30 a.m. The security spokesman at the Ministry of Interior said that a team of criminal investigation and explosive experts from Najran police was engaged in performing its task of removing a number of mortar shells from Rijal neighborhood on the border region when the mortar shells fired from inside Yemen territory hit them. The injured security officers were taken to hospital. One citizen died and five others were injured in the second attack in a residential area in Najran city at 12 p.m., according to the spokesman of Civil Defense in Najran region.
