Dammam school tops in quality and quantity

DAMMAM — Students of International Indian School, Dammam (IISD) have excelled in All India Senior School Certificate Examination results published by CBSE Monday in New Delhi. IISD students have performed exceedingly well in science, commerce and humanities streams. In all 725 students appeared in the examination.
Varsha Balachandra Kumar secured 97 percent in Science stream and stood first in the Kingdom. Ghouse Mohamed Ibrahim stood second with 96.2 percent while Sree Vidhya Sadanandan, Sri Kiranmayee and Razeena stood third with 95.4 percent.
In Commerce stream Kunhu Hassan secured 96 percent and topped the school. While Neha Ann Lal stood second with 94.8 percent and Ruwaiza secured third position with 93.2 percent Umayya Abdul Gafoor secured 94.4 percent and stood first in Humanities.
While Afreen Ashfaq secured 92.8 percent stood second, Malavika Nair came third with 89.4 percent.
IISD is continuing its tradition of excellent academic performance this year also. Five students secured 100 percent in Biotechnology. They are Fathima Hajee Basha,Rahmathunissa Madathil Noorudeen, Sarah Salim Sayed, Rasha Salam and Salma Khatoon.
Nimmi Jose, Richa Ann Mathew, Swetha Maria Mathews, Deepak Kumar Salem secured 100 percent in Chemistry. Six students scored 99 percent in Marketing, two students secured 98 percent in English, and another three students secured 98 percent in Computer Science.
In Mathematics 32 students got 95 percent. Thirteen students secured 95 percent in Physics.
The school has registered a total of 730 students for the AISSCE and 64 of them have scored 90 percent and above while 190 of them scored 80-89 percent.
Another 191 students scored 70-79 percent, 164 students 60-69 percent, and 88 students 50-59 percent. Twenty-eight students scored less than 50 percent marks. Five students were absent due to different reasons.
The number of students scoring distinction is 445, which is a very good number that reflects the excellent performance of the students. Last year the number of students scoring above 90 percent was 51 while it has increased to 64 and the number of distinctions from 342 to 445. IISD results is superior not only in quantity but in quality also.
School Chairman Dr. Abdussalam Kanniyan, the members of the management committee and Principal E.K. Mohamed Shaffie congratulated the toppers and their parents who have brought laurels to the school. They thanked the faculty, the principal-in-charge and all other staff members for their effort.
