KANSAS CITY — Chris Young extended the Kansas City starters' scoreless inning streak and designated hitter Kendrys Morales drove in all the runs with two homers as the Royals beat the St. Louis Cardinals 5-0 in an Inter-League game Friday. Young, who lowered his ERA to 0.78, pitched six innings and gave up six hits and two walks with two strikeouts to pick up the victory. Royals starters have not allowed a run in the past four games spanning 26 innings.
