Omani and Saudi businessmen seal deals as OPEX '15 comes to a close

JEDDAH — The 4th Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX 2015) held in Jeddah came to an end with a number of trade deals and agreements signed between Omani manufactures, Saudi investors and businessmen.
Over 100 Omani companies are showcased their products and services at the fourth Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX) which opened last week at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events.
The four-day event included leading companies in the areas of food and beverage products, leather, treatment systems, tanks, fertilizers, furniture, aluminum and other metals, building and construction materials, textiles and fabrics, perfumes and cosmetics, mineral and plastic equipment, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics and utilities.
"It was a great opportunity to gather a significant number of local companies and factories under one platform to introduce their products and services to the Saudi market.
We hope there will be continuous exhibitions organized throughout the year to get people from all the world more acquainted with locally manufactured products," said Ayman Al Hosani, deputy chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and head of the organizing committee Chairman of the OPEX.
Abdullah Shidhani, GM United Engineering Services (UES), one of the leading engineering oilfield services providers, said on their first appearance in Saudi Arabia: “Participating at OPEX 2015 was a lucrative opportunity for UES Oman to discuss opportunities for furthering business and reaching agreements with Saudi partners.”
Ali bin Hamad Al Hassani, Chairman of Reem for Batteries Company, added that the Saudi market is very important for his company and the response of visitors who we met is very positive.
He said “we were looking forward to participating in this edition because the Saudi market.” From a visitor's perspective, Abdul Rahman Al Ghamdi said: “I'm here because I want to see the Omani's building and construction material and as far as I know they have the best cement bricks in the region.”
Zahoor Siddique, Vice President of Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE), organizer of the event, said during the last day of the event: “I believe we had another successful exhibition and hope the Omani participants got what they are looking for.”
The 4th Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX 2015), involving more than 100 Omani industrial companies and a number of small and medium-sized enterprises and projects, was organized by the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (ITHRAA), Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Public Establishment of Industrial Estates in cooperation with Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Al Harithy Company for exhibitions (ACE). — SG
