MAKKAH — A fire in an apartment building in Jarham District led to the evacuation of 19 residents. Makkah Civil Defense spokesman Capt. Naif Al-Sharif said a woman cooking on a gas oven in the kitchen of a top-floor apartment accidentally caused the blaze. The wooden walls of the kitchen caught the flames from the cooker and the fire spread through to the first and second floors. The Civil Defense extinguished the blaze and no one was injured.
