Pilgrims evacuate hotel after fire

MAKKAH — Pilgrims evacuated a hotel located south of the Grand Mosque after a fire started on its eighth floor. Makkah Civil Defense spokesman Naif Al-Sharif said firefighters extinguished the flames and no one was injured. The authorities arranged an alternative residence for the pilgrims while the Civil Defense investigated the cause of the fire.
