Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Special Criminal Court here sentenced a Saudi man to 15-year jail after finding him guilty of sedition. The Saudi also faces a 15-year travel ban after he completes his prison term. The court convicted him of calling people to topple the country's rulers. The Saudi was also convicted of producing video clips encouraging people to demonstrate against the government. The video clips which were posted on the Internet asked the people to stage a sit-in for the “youth of March 4” demonstration in Al-Rajhi Mosque courtyard in eastern Riyadh. The Saudi was also found in possession of pictures of Al-Qaeda leaders and documents supporting terrorism acts in the eastern region of the Kingdom. Documents critical of the Kingdom's religious scholars and its educational policy were also seized from his possession. The defendant, who was brought from prison to the court by force following his refusal to acknowledge the judge and the court, said he did not recognize Thursday's verdict. He said: “I don't recognize this court. You can issue any verdict you want, either the death sentence or life imprisonment.”
