JEDDAH — Batterjee Medical College for Science and Technology participated in the fourth annual forum of scientific research, organized by Umm Al-Qura University's faculty of dentistry. The college was represented by a delegation of faculty members and students from the dentistry program. BMC's participation came in the form of research presented by Dr. Sherief Fayez, assistant professor and the head of fixed and removable prosthodontics, and Dr. Rasha Ramadan, assistant professor and head of the conservative dentistry department, in which they discussed a new material used in tooth fillings that is long-lasting compared to traditional materials. Fayez pointed out that the continuous progress and development in different scientific fields requires innovation, especially in the field of health. He added that such forums encourage students to be more competitive and committed to developing their skills by means of scientific medical research. Dr. Hassan Shaibah, BMC Dean, said the college has always been keen on encouraging students to carry out scientific research, stressing that this is a primary goal of university education. He said that scientific research expands students' knowledge, enhances their skills, sharpens their personalities and prepares them for post-graduation challenges.
