Saudi Gazette report

JEDDAH — Indian Youth Welfare Association (IYWA) held a farewell party in honor of Consul Pranav Ganesh, who is leaving Jeddah after a four-year tenure at the Consulate General of India.

Speakers at the function commended Ganesh for his dedicated and sincere services to the Indian community living in Jeddah and neighboring regions.
IYWA President Surendar Pal Singh in his welcome speech said the consulate played a pivotal role in serving the Indian community and the credit goes to the earnest and devoted team of consuls who extended necessary assistance and services to community members “as and when required”. He said it is the obligation of the community to recognize these services and express their gratitude to these officials.

“Pranav was always there to help community members, irrespective to caste, creed, religion and region,” he said, adding that his support to the Indian Youth Welfare Association to carry out its community welfare programs would always be remembered.

IYWA Vice Patron Hassan Bayazeed Ather extolled the consulate and the consuls for their services to the community.

Speaking on the occasion, Ganesh advised his compatriots to strive hard and create competition in the educational field through creativity, excellence and prudence.

The majority of the Indian people are in the underprivileged section of society and it is the responsibility of the educated youth to transform them into skilled individuals by raising awareness and encouraging them to take up challenging careers, Ganesh said.

The youth should engage in sports activities to develop the sportsmen sprit of accepting victory and defeat in complete harmony while persistently striving for excellence, he added.

Mohammed Raqib Qureshi, consul for education, was the chief guest.

The party was attended by Anand Kumar, who will replace Ganesh as the new consul for consular affairs; Shams Ahsan, managing editor, Saudi Gazette; Anup Singh, vice consul for labor; and Majeedul Hassan, SIBN general secretary. Other participants included Ravi Singh, Sandeep, Gireesh, Riaz Mulla and Mohammed Ali Nayyar of Kanoo Travels.

Muzzammil Hussain, chief coordinator of IYWA, was the host. Ather, Singh, Mir Gazanfar Ali Zaki and Muzzammil Hussain presented mementoes to Ganesh.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Zaki wished good luck and best wishes to Ganesh on behalf of IYWA in his future endeavors.
