RIYADH — A “Food is Great Britain” Festival will be launched at all Lulu Saudi Hypermarkets outlets across Saudi Arabia on Saturday. British Ambassador Simon Collis will be the guest of honor at the inaugural ceremony, which will start at 11 a.m. at the LuLu outlet in Murabba, Riyadh. Speaking about the festival, Collis said, “I encourage everyone to come to the Food is Great Britain week at LuLu Hypermarkets, which showcases the best of British food and cuisine.” The eight-day-long festival, which celebrates the culture, cuisine and industry of UK firms, will showcase over 5,000 indigenous top quality British products in both food and non-food categories. Food items include traditional cheeses, cakes and other assorted delicacies. Adrian Paul Crampton, operations manager at Lulu, said the idea behind the promotion is not only to bring a new variety of products but also to highlight different aspects of British culture. “This is an opportunity to present to our customers a different culture and tradition.” Shoppers have a chance to win free tickets to the UK through a raffle draw at the end of the festival. — SG
