Badea Abu Al-Naja Saudi Gazette MAKKAH — The Al-Otaibiya municipality branch has begun a campaign to remove illegal parking spaces inside neighborhoods in an attempt to protect public property. Hasan Bin Saeed, head of the branch, said a number of residents and businesses began building their own parking spots on government property by installing metal posts to reserve space in front of their homes or businesses and erecting parasols on government-owned streets to provide shade for their cars. These actions resulted in the streets becoming narrow. The municipality branch removed more than 390 illegal posts and parasols over the past five days. He said the campaign would continue and extend to other neighborhoods.
