Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — The Personal Status Court has granted custody rights to a Saudi mother over her daughter but prohibited the woman from traveling outside the country with her child without the judge's permission, Al-Hayat reported. The court said the mother filed a custody lawsuit against her ex-husband claiming that he took their daughter from school without informing her. The woman had a written statement from the father stating he would leave the child with her and her new husband until she became an adult. The court granted the mother custody and guardianship rights, especially when dealing with government and private directorates. However, the judge did not grant the mother the right to let her daughter travel without his permission.
