A woman has had the custody of her six children removed and granted to her ex-husband following accusations of “immorality” in a court testimony given by her own mother. The maternal grandmother of the children told a Khamis Mushayt court that her daughter was “disobedient and unfit to raise the children”, and requested that the judge grant custody of her grandchildren to her former son-in-law. Two nephews of the mother of six also testified to their aunt's “immoral conduct.” The judge had previously awarded custody to the mother, a move that prompted her ex-husband to taking his children away to Jeddah where he was later arrested. Upon hearing the various testimonies, however, the judge annulled his previous ruling and gave custody over to the father of the children. The mother attended the hearing without being summoned to testify.
