RIYADH — The Supreme Judicial Council has issued a decision to compel courts reviewing custody cases to grant divorced women who win custody over their children legal guardianship as well. They will not, however, be allowed to travel outside the country with their children without the judge's permission. Ministry of Justice Spokesman Fahad Al-Bakran said: “As long as the decision was issued because the woman was found to be capable of caring for her children, she can also deal with her children's other matters and prevent the father from abusing the children to pressure the mother to transfer custody over to him.”
