Published in The Saudi Gazette on 30 - 03 - 2015

SAEED Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received a high level delegation from Sweden's Ericsson. The delegation included Magnus Mandersson, Executive Vice President and Head of Business Unit Global Services, Orvar Hurtig, Vice President of Business Line Industry & Society and Business Unit Global Services, Rafiah Ibrahim, President, Middle East & East Africa, and Rutger Reman, Head of Customer Unit Industry and Society, Middle East & East Africa. The meeting was attended by Dr. Yousef Ibrahim Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, and Ahmed Abdullah, Senior Manager of External Communications at DEWA.
Welcoming the delegation, Al Tayer noted that DEWA works to boost collaboration with its partners, to achieve the highest levels of excellence in its services for partners and customers and support Dubai's efforts to build a sustainable future.
Ericsson's delegation confirmed its platinum sponsorship of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2015. WETEX is organized under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of DEWA, on April 21–23 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will be held under the umbrella of Green Week 2015, in conjunction with the World Green Economy Summit (WGES), which intends to further establish Dubai's position as a global hub for green economy and sustainable development.
Al Tayer thanked Ericsson and other WETEX sponsors, and emphasized DEWA's commitment to enhance partnership with them. He noted that sponsors' participation and support had a significant impact on the success of WETEX. Seventeen years after its launch, WETEX has become a major global exhibition.
Al Tayer anticipated greater success for this year's WETEX, which supports the sustainable development of Dubai. It also supports DEWA's vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility.
The Ericsson delegation thanked Al Tayer for the warm reception and the briefing on DEWA's projects and operations as well as DEWA's willingness to cooperate with the company. — SG
