JEDDAH — After a week-long fight for life, Osama Muhammad, a student of International Indian School Jeddah who was critically injured in a car crash, succumbed to his injuries early on Friday. Amid prayers and efforts of the entire Indian community to save the boy by raising funds to meet the hospital expenses, Osama gave up the fight for his life and breathed his last at around 2.30 a.m. at Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. His body will be buried in Jeddah after completion of the necessary procedures. Osama, who hails from the Indian state of Gujarat, in the car crash last Friday when he was returning home after sitting for Grade 12 examination along with three other students of IISJ and Lloyd Cheruvathur Samson, a student of Al Falah International School (DPS Jeddah). Lloyd, who also sustained critical injuries, died on Monday and his body will be flown to Thrissur district of Kerala for burial. The condition of three other students — Muzammil Ahmed (Lucknow), Huzaifa Mahmoud Al-Bari (Lucknow), and Ajaz Muhammad (Hyderabad) — has been improved and they are now out of danger. — Hassan Cheruppa
