MORE women are expected to participate in the third annual “A Step Ahead” job fair and forum, said the organizing committee of Glowork, the company behind the event. The “A Step Ahead” career fair will be hosted in Riyadh on April 1-3 in Al Faisaliah Hotel; Dammam on April 12-13 in the Sheraton Hotel; and Jeddah on April 28-29 in the Hilton Hotel. Participants can expect to find job opportunities that meet their exact skill sets, abilities and interests, and elevate their careers to new professional heights with greater experience and more nuanced knowhow. Programs and training courses available at the fair's three venues in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah throughout April will help them hone their skills, enrich their knowledge, and subsequently boost their chances of employment in countless fields. The fact that the number of participating women has already passed the 12,000 milestone a whole month prior to the event is a testament to its popularity among female job seekers, no matter what industry they seek to work in, said the company. Khalid AlKhudair, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Glowork, said that the fair will start off in Riyadh for three days in early April, and then move on to Dammam mid-month, and on to Jeddah at the end of April. He added that several well-known business figures will offer their working experience in various fields, including the director of content at Twitter, Head of Branding for Facebook, and the president of global confectionary juggernaut Cinnabon. “It's thrilling to see so many women participating in A Step Ahead mere days before it kicks off,” said AlKhudair. “Many Saudi universities have confirmed their direct participation in this annual event to take advantage of the platform it provides to recruit female students and inform them of the job openings they have available for them.” Among the participating universities will be King Abdulaziz University, King Saudi University, Effat University, Dar Al Hekma, Al-Yamama University, the University of Dammam, Prince Sultan University, Princess Noura University, and Dar Al-Uloom University, Al Khudair said. “The annual fair and forum have become two of the foremost employment and training events in the Kingdom,” he added, “thanks to official support from the Human Resources Development Fund, which enriches the event and adds more credibility to its name, as well as helping our efforts to help bring female job seekers and employers together.” More national and global enterprises are expected to participate this year. The show will feature a special program designed to help job-seeking women find just the right jobs and training programs for them, with many workshops, interviews and direct liaisons with representatives of participating businesses. — SG
