Riyadh — Glowork.net, the Kingdom's portal for female recruitment, won the first place in the world to become the best, innovative solution for job creation in a competition organized by the United Nation and the International Labor Organization (ILO) through the Youth Employment Network. The award considered one of the biggest awards in the areas of work and job creation at a global level, has for the first time accepted a Saudi organization to receive such an honor. Since its launch last year, Glowork has helped create over 2,500 vacancies for women through its portal, it also innovated a solution for virtual offices, which helps organizations hire women from home and actively monitors them through the most complicated of tasks such as call centers and tele-sales. The virtual office solution helps create opportunities for those in rural areas and even promotes the hiring of those with special needs, adhering perfectly with the Saudi culture and tradition. Glowork is also in partnership with all the universities in the Kingdom, to educate the women on what's expected when entering the job market, how to write your CV, how to conduct your interview etc. Over 40 organizations participated in the competition which is based on public votes and the judge's assessment. Glowork scored a remarkable 25/25 from the judges and 200 votes from the community to secure the top spot. Glowork was formed by Saudi young talents that believed in women empowerment. They self-funded the initiative and it has now been recognized as one of the best practices worldwide when it comes to promoting gender equality in the workplace. Several countries in the region are eager to adopt the Glowork concept. Khalid Alkhudair, Glowork's founder, said,“Glowork dedicates this award to the Saudi community, The Minister of Labor and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Kind Abdullah, for their belief in women empowerment and allowing organizations like us to help find the right solutions for women and do it within the sphere of our cultural and traditional boundaries." “We are so proud not because of the award, but because we are Saudis who are showing the world that women have their equal place in the community and this is just the start," Alkhudair added. — SG
