DAMMAM — Eastern Province Municipality has shut down 85 food establishments and seized more than 177 kg and 281 liters of nutrients. Eastern Province Environmental Health General Director Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Shaheel said the municipality ran an inspection campaign, which visited a total of 2,297 establishments. The municipality issued 3,040 health violation notices. The violations included uncertified and unqualified workers, the workplace had health violations and the way the food products were handled and stored. Dammam Municipality also ran an inspection on the spices and seasonings dealer shops and closed down 17 shops for violations and seized 340 products and over 1,600 sample products. The campaign also inspected 441 hair salons and shut down 25, issued 45 fines and issued 207 warning notices.
