With reference to the article "Condition of Indian students improving" by Hassan Cheruppa (March 22), I am surprised that the kids have cars. During my school days, the maximum that would be allowed was to start the engine. Now parents buy and give their kids cars! Where is the sense in all this? The parents are giving an adult's machine to a child as a toy. And after their whole life of playing, you expect them to be responsible? Children are the best gift to parents but parents should put a leash on them before they kill someone else. Concerned Expat, Online response This is a time to pray and stand by them instead of criticizing them and pointing out their mistakes. What happened has happened. Now, pray for the speedy recovery of the two boys and think of what their parents are going through. Let's hope that the kids will recover soon and will continue their studies. And a big salute to the principal of the International Indian School-Jeddah for standing by them. Asif Khan, Online response As a parent, it pains a lot and our hearts goes with the suffering of the kids and their parents. As a responsible parent, it's our responsibility to teach our children the importance of safe driving and make them understand that it's a reponsibility and not only for fun. May Almighty Allah give good health to the injured kids and strength to their parents to overcome the trauma. Khaja Iftekar Ali, Online response
