TAIF — Two Saudis and a Pakistani national were executed for murder and drug smuggling in the Kingdom on Tuesday, the Ministry of Interior announced. A source at the ministry said Saudi citizen Najr Al-Otaibi was executed in Taif for murdering Salem Al-Otaibi by beating him with sticks and rocks until he died. The other Saudi man, Mueedh Al-Qahtani, was convicted of murdering Hasan Al-Qahtani by shooting him after an argument. He was executed in the Eastern Province. Both sentences were suspended until the victims' next of kin reached the required age to decide whether to forgive the murderer or seek the death sentence. The victims' families asked for the death sentence to be carried out. Meanwhile, Pakistani national Hasan Deen Ahmad was convicted of smuggling heroin into the Kingdom. He was executed in Madinah.
