SWANSEA, Wales — Jordan Henderson scored a fortunate second-half winner as Liverpool beat Swansea 1-0 in the Premier League Monday to keep in touch with the top four in the race for Champions League qualification. A covering tackle from Swansea defender Jordi Amat hit the shins of Henderson on the edge of the penalty area and looped over stranded goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski into the net. Liverpool's fifth straight league win kept the team unbeaten in 2015 and two points behind fourth-place Manchester United. Manchester City, which is second, is only four points clear of in-form Liverpool. Swansea failed to capitalize on a dominant first-half display in driving rain at Liberty Stadium and faded after halftime. Steven Gerrard came on as a substitute for Liverpool for his first appearance since Feb. 10. Reading to face Arsenal Reading booked an FA Cup semifinal clash against holder Arsenal after romping to a 3-0 victory over 10-man Bradford in their quarterfinal replay Monday. Steve Clarke's Championship side had been held to a goalless draw by its third-tier opponent in the first meeting at Valley Parade. Hal Robson-Kanu's header put the Royals in front with the game's first chance in the sixth minute and the impressive Garath McCleary saw a shot deflected in on nine minutes. Any hopes the Bantams had of completing a remarkable comeback were shattered when winger Felipe Morais was shown a straight red card for a high foot on Nathaniel Chalobah just after the hour. And it was on-loan Chelsea youngster Chalobah who set-up the third Reading goal which truly put the game beyond doubt as he fed Jamie Mackie, who hammered it in the 68th minute. Sociedad beats Getafe A second-half own goal by Vicente Guaita gave Real Sociedad a 1-0 win at Getafe in the Spanish League Monday, for its first away win of the season. The last time Sociedad won away in La Liga was almost a year ago. Sociedad is 10th on 33 points and Getafe is 13th on 29. Sampdoria blanks Roma Roma's season went from bad to worse as it lost 2-0 at home to Sampdoria Monday to leave Rudi Garcia's team in danger of losing out on second place in Serie A after Lazio won 2-0 at Torino. Lorenzo De Silvestri and substitute Luis Muriel scored to inflict Roma's first home league loss of the season amid loud jeers at the Stadio Olimpico, and the host's misery was compounded by Seydou Keita's late red card. Lazio recorded its fifth successive win earlier to cut the gap to its fierce city rival to just one point and pull three points clear of Napoli in the race for the Champions League spots. Elsewhere, two late goals helped Fiorentina come from behind to beat AC Milan 2-1. Fiorentina and Samp moved a point behind Napoli, while Milan remained 10th. It was the first time Milan had lost at Fiorentina in nearly 10 years. — Agencies
