Mazola wins Product of the Year Award 2015
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 03 - 2015

THE biggest brand names from across the Gulf gathered under one roof to recognize the most innovative products of 2015. Mazola, one of the pioneers of healthy food products in the Gulf, was awarded the prestigious Product of the Year Award (POY) for its Sunflower Oil in the cooking oil category at the Palace Hotel, Down Town Dubai.
This is Mazola's second win in 3 years of participation as back in 2013, Mazola's Mayonnaise Lite & flavors had won the Product of the Year Award in the mayonnaise category.
Since its inception in 1911, Mazola has delivered great tasting, high-quality products as the brand has always endeavored to promote good health across the region. The sunflower oil category is one of the fastest growing categories across MENA and as one of the key players in the category, Mazola's volume market share has grown by 3% annually. The category is expected to grow even further as sunflower oil is perceived to be healthier and lighter compared to other cooking oils.
“Winning this prestigious award for the second time is a great achievement for Mazola and we're proud of it,” said Simon Gottfried, VP for Mazola Middle East and North Africa. “It is the reassurance of our consumers' satisfaction with our products and their trust in us”, he added. The brand does not look at this as a moment to sit back and bask in the glory of this accomplishment. Mazola looks forward to delivering an even better experience for its consumers and a brighter 2015.
Mazola had also recently conducted a special dinner for its partners and distributors in the midst of its participation at the 20th edition of Gulfood 2015 – the world's largest annual food and hospitality show in Dubai. The brand celebrated its achievements and awarded its top distributors at the meet. The Product of the Year Award comes just in time to mark the perfect end to the past year and the perfect beginning to the new chapter for Mazola.
POY is a prestigious award that rewards innovation in the FMCG sector and it is also the only award to be voted for by consumers themselves, through an independent consumer survey. The award has grown with each year and has been working with over 100 multinationals globally to recognize truly unique products. — SG
