JEDDAH — GBest-IT team beat Operations Complex team to claim the IDB Inter-Group Cricket Tournament here recently. The tournament was organized by the Islamic Development Bank's social and cultural wing and sponsored by GBest–IT Department under the leadership of its director Mohammad Abdallah Baghdadi.
Opting to bat first, GBest–IT scored 103 in 12 overs and then bowled out the rival team. Abdul Rouf Janjuniya (50 not out) was the only batsman to put up some resistance. Janjuniya was declared Man of the Match, Waseem Man of the Series, and Muzammil Best Bowler.
IDB Vice President Ahmet Tiktik was the chief guest and Pakistan's ODI and Test player Faisal Iqbal was the guest of honor.
Baghdadi with Iqbal presented the trophies to the winning and runner-up teams.
Appreciation trophies were also awarded to: Syed Asim Raza, Syed Saleem Quadri, Javed Khan, Syed M. Javed, Mohammed Yousufuddin and scorers Ajmal and Abdulqadir Javed. — SG
