JEDDAH — Jamia Nizamia (one of the oldest Islamic universities in Hyderabad, India) conducted their Mehfil-e-Naat (eulogy) recently in Jeddah. The ceremony was held by the university's alumni, Bazme Tulba-E-Qadeem Wa Muhibban-E-Jamia Nizamia, which is also called as Old Boys Association and fans of Jamia Nizamia.
The event was presided by the alumni president, Mohammed Naveed Afroze Naveed, while Syed Shah Khalilullah Bukhari Naqshbandi was the guest speaker. Nizam Ghouri was the anchor for the event.
Beautiful and heart touching Naats and couplets were presented by Tariq Attari, Syed Abubakr, Syed Abul Hasan and Mohd Aijaz.
Speaking on the occasion, Naqshbandi shed light on the teaching of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his life in detail.
Mohammed Aijaz, who is the mathematics teacher in the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) also shed the light on the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He said: “If we read the life of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) we will learn that he was the best human being Allah has created in this universe.
He (PBUH) has taught us during his lifetime how to live honestly in our life. His life is truly a Sunnah which we need to follow in our daily life.”
Aijaz then narrated couplets from Allama Iqbal's poetry written on the life of the Prophet.
The event started with the recitation of some verses from the Qur'an by Noor Mohammed Naqshbandi followed by a Naat of Saleem Qadri and Mukkaram.
Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Arif Qureshi, Syed Imaduddin Qadri, Hafiz Abdul Salam and several other community members graced the occasion with their presence. — SG
