TAIF — Electricity was cut from villages north of Taif for three hours after a car collided with a high-voltage transmission tower. The injured driver was transported to hospital by the Red Crescent while the Saudi Electricity Company rushed to the scene to fix the tower, which had burnt out as a result of the crash in Qiya. The affected villages were in the areas of Qiya, Abu Rakah, and Gazayel. Taif Civil Defense spokesman Col. Nasser Al-Sharif said the situation was brought under control and the electricity was restored.
