Al-Othman at the Global Competitiveness Forum in Riyadh
Samsung Electronics, the global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, participated as technical sponsor at the Global Competitiveness Forum 2015 that was held recently at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh, with the presence of SangJin Park, President of Samsung Electronics who flew in from South Korea.
KeeWon Park, General Manager at Samsung Electronics in Saudi Arabia, said: “The importance of Samsung's participation in the Global Competitiveness Forum comes in line with the company's pioneering role and presence in supporting grand events and forums in the Kingdom, especially as they bring in great thinkers and business leaders from around the world- for this, we extend our appreciation to the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority for orchestrating this world class gathering.”
Park added “Samsung's global expertise in the technical field is to provide modern innovative technology products that simplifies people's lives, giving them the opportunity to enjoy a rich and irreplaceable experience when using these smart products that is revolutionary in how they are being integrated not just with every person in hand wherever they are, but in every household and business space that bring people together.”
Qusai Mukhtar, Marketing Communications Manager in Samsung Electronics Saudi Arabia, said: “We are here today to be part of an extremely important event, not just a worldwide scale, but specific to Saudi Arabia- while exchanging information with global leaders and expertise in each market segment, we bring here the understanding of how technology is a must-have for different lifestyles in Saudi Arabia and how it is integrated in everyday life by groups and individuals.”
During the forum, Samsung presented to the attendees Samsung's latest innovation in smart products, introducing a special edition of Samsung's Note Category, the Samsung Galaxy note Edge, which will make a grand difference in how users interact with their smartphones. In addition, Samsung's all new Gear Virtual Reality, which is considered to be the first of its kind worldwide was explained.
The Galaxy Note Edge device features innovative high-tech specifications, modern design and available in two colors (black & white), with a distinctive super AMOLED HD 5.6 curved screen, the device provides users with various additional services such as the possibility of using buttons on the curved end, checking notifications and time without unlocking the phone. When it comes to entertainment, the video play/pause controls can also be on the “Edge” screen, so consumers get full-screen uninterrupted viewing, and to avoid distraction from notifications on the main screen, users can scroll on edge screen instead.
Samsung designed the Gear VR especially for innovative consumers and developers who, with the support of Samsung, will move "virtual reality" to the next level. All you need to do is slip the Note 4 into the slot, put on the headset, and then consumers are ready to go anywhere, experiencing a 360-degree virtual reality just by turning heads as if you were there.
Samsung's latest smart technology received a wide commendation from the forum's attendees that expressed their admiration for smart and innovative technology products, which confirms Samsung's leading role in providing reliable and smart technology that serves various customer needs. — SG
