MAKKAH — Health teams at the Makkah Municipality destroyed more than two tons of rotten food that was deemed unfit for human consumption. The move was part of the campaign launched by the municipality targeting restaurants and food stores in different neighborhoods of Makkah, which resulted in the closure of 24 stores. Some of the violations detected included expired food, insects inside the kitchen, poor hygiene among workers and expired permits.
