With regard to the article "Jeddah restaurant owners and their audacity" (Dec. 22), I applaud the municipality for its efforts, and sincerely hope that they also name and shame the owners of restaurants who have the nerve to threaten a lawsuit against the municipality. I don't believe that these owners are humans but mere bloodsucking parasites that should be crushed under our shoes. I certainly hope that the municipality will not back down. T. Tawfiq, Online response This is a very good article which highlights the efforts the municipality is making regarding the bad practices of the owners of some restaurants. The writer was correct when he said: "I am not exaggerating when I say the crackdown was a shock because I do not remember the last time the municipality came down hard on violators."
