RIYADH — The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has ordered a date factory in Riyadh and Taif closed for selling expired dates and storing them incorrectly. The authority reported that during an inspection campaign, 1,994 boxes of dates had their expiry labels altered. Some dates were sold a month after their expiry date and were stored in an unsanitary or unlicensed storage facility. About 160 additional boxes had incorrect expiration labels and the workers there had no health certificates.
