With regard to the post "Three reasons why women should not drive" (Dec. 13), Islam has clearly stated the rights and obligations of men and women. Women have the right to work and to their own wealth. There is nothing to prevent them from driving. They are permitted to study, work and do other things as long as it is within the permitted framework of Islam. One cannot generalize and say that women are bad drivers, etc. Can we for a moment leave women alone and give them their God-given rights? Ismaeel Marikar, Online response It is interesting how women are limited in driving, walking alone, work, etc., because men supposedly have no control over themselves! Faith777, Online response
