JEDDAH — Deccan NRI's Group, a Jeddah-based charitable organization, held a farewell party for the vice president of the group, Abdul Basith recently, in a local restaurant in Jeddah. Abdul Basith will leave the Kingdom on a final exit for his retirement after a long journey here. Many well known personalities from other organizations, prominent community members, along with Deccan NRI Group's executive members attended the function. The program started with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran by finance secretary Hamed Ali Muttaher; it was hosted by general secretary Mohammed Abdul Razzak. Later, trustee Syed Khaja Viqaruddin and Mehtab Qadr honored Abdul Basith with mementos from Khak-e-Taiba trust. A plaque was presented by the group as appreciation for the long standing relation and involvement of Abdul Basith with the group and also for being one of the founding members of the organization. A shawl was also presented to Abdul Basith by Rashid Mohd. Abdul Razzak and Dr. Aleem Khan Falki. The evening ended with Abdul Basith sharing anecdotes with attendees followed by a musical program.
