BARWA Bank, Qatar's fastest growing Shari'ah compliant banking service provider, announced the appointment of Abdulla Majed Al-Malki as Group Chief Administrative Officer and Abdulaziz Sultan Al-Kuwari as Head of Qatarization. With more than 14 years of experience in the banking sector, human resources, and administration, Al-Malki is now amongst the top-level executives who oversee the day-to-day operations of Barwa Bank. His key responsibilities include the supervision of the Human Resources and Administration and Facility Management departments.
Prior to joining Barwa Bank, Al-Malki served as HR and Administration Manager at the Qatar Development Bank for four years, after spending nearly a decade at Ras Gas and a year at Qatari Diar; spearheading both companies' HR departments. Welcoming the new appointment, Khalid Yousef Al-Subeai, Barwa Bank's Acting Group Chief Executive Officer, said: "With his experience working with Qatar's leading companies, Al-Malki is an added value to Barwa Bank. One of the main reasons for our success over the past years has been the expertise and insight of our people, enabling us to take decisions quickly and to lead our team effectively".
"I am confident that we will witness many improvements as we continue to grow and prosper as a Group, and on behalf of the bank, I welcome Al-Malki to our team.”
Al-Kuwari has proven leadership in learning and development. With over five years of experience in the domain, he recently served as Qatarization and Talent Development Manager at HSBC. His new position at Barwa Bank Group is aligned with the Qatari state's strategic plan to further develop the national work force. — SG
