RIYADH — A recent report published by the Ministry of Labor stated that the ministry has received 55,415 labor disputes involving Saudis and expatriate workers. It said the amount of settlements in these disputes reached SR186.8 million. Of these cases, 37,543 were solved amicably in the labor offices while the labor disputes committees decided around 12,000 cases, of which two thirds involved expatriates. The report said disputes are first dealt with in the labor offices to seek an amicable solution, and in case an agreement cannot be reached, the cases are referred to the Preliminary Labor Disputes Commission and finally to the High Commission of Labor Disputes.
