MADINAH — Four matches were played during the first round of 2nd MCA Natco Cup Cricket Tournament here recently. The tournament is being sponsored by Natco Jeddah and organized by Madinah Cricket Association (MCA). In the first match Hasnain-XI beat Pepsi Cola by 33 runs. Batting first, Hasnain scored 170 runs in 20 overs. Abdul Kaleem was the top-scorer with 93. Iftikhar was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets. For Pepsi Rashid hit 27 and Ammar 20 as Pepsi could manage only 137. The second match saw Pak Eagle humble Bismillah. Bismillah managed 154-4. Zafar hit 56 with four boundaries and four sixes. Yaseen contributed 41, Rashid 30, Rauf Butta 26 and Asif 20. Pak Eagle achieved the target with three overs to spare. Younus bagged three wickets for Bismillah. United Stars beat Saudi Oger by 8 runs in a high scoring match. Untied Stars set a target of 196 in 20 overs. Hammad hit an unbeaten century with 10 boundaries and three sixes. Saudi Oger, in reply, fell short by 8 runs. Waseem played shots all over the ground for his unbeaten 100 (10 boundaries and 3 sixes). Pak Eagle beat Friends-XI also denying it a semifinal berth. Pak Eagle scored 194 runs with an impressive knock from Kamran (84). Rehan and Imtiaz contributed 34 and 23, respectively. Qayoom claimed two wickets. Mustafa was the top-scorer for Friends-XI with 27. — SG
