Mohammad Rasheed Suyat JEDDAH — The 2014 JBL second Jeddah Central Basketball Tournament, dubbed as Jeddah Lefestylez Basketball League, got off to a flying start at the Bin Mahfouz basketball court here recently. The teams paraded in their resplendent uniforms during the opening ceremony which was presided by JBL President Mohammed Rasheed Suyat and 2nd Jeddah Central Sports Committee heads Marlon Obnial and Boy Raras. Philippine Vice Consul Rodney Janas L. Sumague was the chief guest. The awards for the Best Team in Uniform went to Al-Salama Dos. In the opening game, Al-Salamah 3 of Dante Malibiran thrashed Al-Bawadi 1 52-29. The winner displayed excellent teamwork and outplayed the rival. Logatoc and Dizon scored 14 points apiece for the winner and were adjudged as the Lefestylez best players. Santos contributed 13 points for the loser. This tournament is principally sponsored by Lefestylez with the support of co-sponsors ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, Saudi Sign (Sam Adora) and Al-Haddaf Sportsware (Bayoumi). Al-Kaki beat Al-Baladia 58-40 in another match. The winner executed an excellent running game throughout. The loser tried its best to halt its run. Coy Cabalu topscored with 15 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL best player, while Banadora scored 13 points for the loser. JBC defeated Al-Salamah Dos 63-52 in the third game. The winner applied tough defense in the fourth quarter to claim victory. Paclibar led the winner with 20 points and was named the Lefestylez best player. Bajas scored 22 points for the loser.
