BMC students, faculty members and guest speakers including renowned writers and poets celebrated nine glorious years of King Abdullah's reign marked by economic growth and social development. A documentary film highlighting major achievements of the Kingdom under King Abdullah's leadership was shown. Dr. Hassan Shaibah, BMC dean, gave a short speech and then invited the guest speakers to enchant the audience with some sensational poetry. Dr. Hassan Shaibah, said: "Yesterday marks King Abdullah's 9th year on the throne and on this special occasion we celebrate nine years of growth and development. Thus, we shall take this chance to renew our allegiance, obedience and loyalty to our beloved King Abdullah." He added: "We have seen outstanding achievements year after year thanks to the wise leadership, far-sighted vision and courage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques." He added: "Within the last nine years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has witnessed a vast amount of educational projects which translates the growth of the education sector and its aim to construct a generation armed with knowledge who will contribute in the building of this nation." Sobhi Batterjee, chairman of the BMC Board of Trustees, said: "It is my pleasure to celebrate this joyous occasion and to congratulate every citizen for belonging to this blessed nation." He said that the last nine years were highlighted by growth and development reflected in the vast achievements witnessed by everyone. “Indeed we thank our beloved King and we renew our allegiance to him to lead his country and his people toward development and prosperity while holding to our core values and religion" he added.
