JEDDAH — The Indian expatriates here, especially from Hyderabad, savored a night full of fun and laughter with their families at the Indian comedy show, ‘Hungama in KSA' on Friday here.
The ‘Hungama in KSA' was re-enacted for families only this time after a fun-filled singles night earlier in the week. The entertaining program was arranged by a Riyadh-based organization “Tandem Hum Hindustani, as a part of India's ongoing 65th Republic Day celebrations.
It was prepared and presented under the aegis of Syed Abdul Rafay, General Secretary of the group, and Ghouse Mohiudin Siddiqui, cultural secretary of the association.
Hyderabad cinema's famous actor and filmmaker, Adnan Sajjid Khan, popularly known as Gullu Dada; Aziz Naser, and Khairuddin Baig, known as Jaani, were the main act of entertainment night and they regaled the crowd with their performance. They has come from India to perform exclusively for the Indian community in Jeddah.
Chief Guests of the evening were Abdul Qadeer Siddiqui, Mishal Zahrani and Osman Bin Mahfooz.
Local singers Syed Abdul Rafay, Rehana Salim, Imtiyaz Hussain, Ghous Mohiuddin, Razzaq, Faisal and Amjad Baig along with guest stars took to the stage to entertain the audience with their melodious renditions and rib-tickling jokes. Aziz Naser also rendered some melodious hits.
Adnan Sajjid Khan's presentations, rendered in the Hyderabadi language, received thunderous applause from the audience.
“I think my performance is catchy due to my dialogues and my style of its delivery. ‘Dialogue delivery' I feel is my backbone, I love to perform here as it gives a chance to visit holy places. And the positive response of the audience warms the cockles of out heart. Though I was unwell a bit today, I took to the stage because I did not want to let the audience down, and the audience's response encouraged me a lot, to do my best,” Adnan said.
The show started with stand-up comedy of Khairuddin Baig (Jaani) who captured the hearts of audience with his amusing jokes and hilarious Hyderabadi stories.
Aziz Naser turned in a sterling performance in making sound effects of an English film trailer with his mouth, and his mimicry of famous Bollywood stars too caught the eye as did the Bollywood hit songs he belted out.
“We are sending a message through comedy. Acting and mimicry has been my hobby since childhood, when I used to copy the style of famous Bollywood stars in my school. This means a lot to me bringing smile on people's faces or just making them happy with laughter, “Naser said.
“I am impressed with the audience's response. I had no idea that there are so many fans of these stars and music lovers in Jeddah. The experience has been amazing and the success of the show was all due to the love that the audience showered us with,” said an ecstatic Abdul Rafay.
At the end of the concert, he said, “We were able to deliver another successful show and more such shows are to follow in the future.”
