JEDDAH — US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker assured of his country's long-standing and enduring ties with the Kingdom and Gulf region. “The United States and Saudi Arabia are strong partners in commerce and trade cooperation. I see our relationship only getting stronger in the years ahead,” said Secretary Pritzker. Secretary Pritzker led a senior-executive Business Development Mission to Saudi Arabia March 10-12 to highlight bilateral trade opportunities. In Riyadh, Secretary Pritzker addressed the American and Saudi business leaders and government officials at a luncheon hosted by the US-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC). Secretary Pritzker attended a roundtable with Saudi entrepreneurs, where she shared her efforts to encourage economic opportunity for young people around the world through her work as chair of the President's Committee on Global Entrepreneurship. In support of the countries' bilateral commercial relationship and US firms exploring business opportunities in Saudi Arabia, Secretary Pritzker met with several government and business leaders, including Second Deputy Prime Minister Prince Muqrin Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. Secretary Prizker also met with Dr. Tawfig Fawzan Alrabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Deputy Minister of Water & Electricity Dr. Saleh Alawaji, and Dr. Hashim Yamani, President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE).
