MUMBAI — There was a time in the 90s when filmmakers included parodies of various yesteryear chartbusters and brought them all together in one musical piece. The trend could well restart with Gang of Ghosts, what with Satish Kaushik including a situation in his comic-horror affair where his team of 'ghosts' comes together for a parody outing. The songs, which are the chosen ones, come from Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Govinda starrers, amongst others. For Mahie Gill, who is anyway featuring in a 50s vintage number 'Nahin Dungi', where she is merging the voice of Madhubala and Suraiyaa together, this parody turned out to be a further stress buster due to its out and out entertaining appeal. "Yes, I have done this parody song where ghosts go out for a picnic. Now can you imagine that," Mahie said, adding, "After a long time I am seeing a parody being included in a film and I am glad that I feature prominently in there. Then there are other ghosts as well, including Meera Chopra." The parody is special as it has everything from 'Dekha Hai Pehli Baar' [Saajan] to 'Laal Dupatte Waali', 'Angne Pe Baba' [Aankhen] to 'Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan Mein', 'Dil Ne Ye Kaha Hai Dil Se' [Dhadkan] to 'Gori Hai Kalaiyaan' [Aaj Ka Arjun] to 'Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast' [Mohra] brought back into limelight with spoofy lyrics added by Satish Kaushik lending them a true appeal. With copyright of soundtrack for each of these albums being owned by Venus, it was a cakewalk for producer Ratan Jain to sanction the parody. — Agencies
