Quarterfinal lineup set in EPCA

DAMMAM — The quarterfinal lineup is decided in the First Division of the MoneyGram-sponsored Cricket Ke Badhshah T20 Tournament organized by EPCA under the patronage of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) here recently.
KLV Al-Khodari, Khobar Badshah, Harley-Davidson and Bindelamah Rockers topped their respective groups, followed by Kashmir-XI, Bindelamah Adpco, Royal Kashmir and Hyderabad Greens.
In the Premier Division, Sikander Farooqui CC upstaged Friends-XI by 67 runs. Powered by an 106-run opening partnership between Irfan Farooqui (58) and Imran Farooqui (47) and a late cameo by Faraz Ashfaq (33), SKFCC posted 193. Safiullah bagged three wickets. In reply, Friends-XI lost wickets at regular intervals as Nasir Khan (3-30), Ayub Khan (3-13) and Abulhasan (3-15) bowled well. Murad contributed 38 as Friends-XI was bowled out for 126.
Kanoo Al-Dossary bowlers held their nerve to clinch a thriller against Marooj Rawan. Half-centuries by Abdul Naheed (63) and Akhter Mahmood (50) took Kanoo Al-Dossary to 193-6. Marooj Rawan's Nadeem picked up three wickets. In reply, Marooj Rawan was sailing smoothly toward the target with a brilliant 66 from opener Rizwan Haider, but some brilliant bowling by Danish Irfan (3-33), Asif Afridi (2-31) and Abdul Naheed (2-44) helped Kanoo Al-Dossary win the match by 4 runs.
Experienced Tariq Tanveer's vintage form was on display (4-35) as he ran through Pak-Saudi batting lineup to give Al-Ghamdi an easy win. Al-Ghamdi 194-6 (Ahmed Rauf 83, Raza Abbas 48; Ghani 2-14, Anwer 2-38) beat Pak-Saudi 175-9 (Imran 60; Tariq Tanveer 4-35, Ahsen 2-29, Rehan 2-23) by 19 runs.
A solid batting performance from Tajammal Hayat and late fireworks from Waqas Fakhar helped Al-Tuwairqi ease past TFT's target with five wickets in hand. GulfLink TFT 204-6 (Usman 81, Raza 41; Rizwan Qayyum 3-36, Khawar Sohail 2-25) lost to Al-Tuwairqi 207-5 (Asif Mughal 33, Tajamal 49, Waqas 41; Waqas Butt 2-28).
Powered by the all-round performance of Qeiser Muqeem, Gulf Steel beat Nawab Tigers by three wickets. Nawab Tigers Bindelamah 171 (Kashif 30, Ameen 51; Qeiser 2-28, Bilal 2-26, Wirasat 3-28, Ashar 2-35) lost to Gulf Steel 172-7 (Bilal 57, Qeiser 41 not out; Rajesh 3-46, Kashif 2-20).
A 41-ball 71 by Zeeshan helped Gyptech Age Dolphins beat Team Abbasi by five wickets. Team Abbasi 153 (Sheraz 38; Asif 3-28, Haziq 2-26) lost to Gyptech Age Dolphins 154-5 (Zeeshan 71; Omer 2-20).
In First Division matches, Bindelamah Rockers thumped KFUPM by 91 runs to remain unbeaten. BD Rockers 247-6 (Firasat Ali 50, Bilal Ahmed 67, Safeer Kunju 34; Muhammed Shafi 2-49) beat KFUPM 156-7 (Muhammad Saif 46, Muhammad Faheem 45; Abidullah 2-21, Nishad Kunju 2-13).
Shabir Baba's all-round performance gave Royal Kashmir fourth straight win. Royal Kashmir 166-10 (Aijaz Ahmed 31, Shabir Baba 33; Maherullah 4-21, Parvez 3-43, Shoaib 2-22) beat Al-Bawardi 146-9 (Baseer Irshad 47; Shabir Baba 3-25, Aijaz Ahmed 2-21, Imran 2-6) by 20 runs.
An unbeaten 54 by Babar Aslam guided Hyderabad Green past Enerco by four wickets. Enerco 180-7 (Nazir 52, Tanzeel 45 not out, Imran 33; Abdullah 3-16) lost to Hyderabad Green 181-4 (Babar 54 not out, Shamas 33, Owais 31 not out; Qadir 2-29).
Bindelamah Adpco won a one-sided contest against Eastern Arabia as Nabeel Butt and Kashif Butt scored half-centuries. Eastern Arabia 141-9 (Gayan Silva 3-27; Tanveer 2-17, Imran Noor 2-24) lost to Bindelamah Adpco 143-2 (Nabeel Butt 62, Kashif Butt 54 not out).
Led by Tahir Hafeez's compact 45 Harley-Davidson sneaked to a 33-run win against EIPlus Arabia. Harley-Davidson 182 (Tahir Hafeez 45; Ziad 3-36, Nabeel 2-29, Shahid 2-25) beat EIPlus Arabia 149 (Shahid 36, Mubashir 36; Malik Asghar 3-32, Osman AbdulGhani 3-33, Wasim Akram 2-34).
Waseem Makhdoomi shone for Kashmir-XI with both bat and ball. Kashmir-XI 199-8 (Waseem 47, Ijaz 66; Waseem 3-38, Zaffar 2-34) beat KLV Al-Khodari 159 (Govind Nishant 40, Nazeer Hussain 45; Waseem Makhkdoomi 3-24, Nawab Jan 2-33) by 40 runs.
Imad's five-for spell gave Young Guns an easy win over Imran Tigers Academy. Imran Tigers 174-8 (Javaid 46, Nazim 39, Gul 30; Imad 5-21, Zaman 2-22) lost to Age Steel Young Guns 177-6 (Ammar Anis 44, Mudasir 30 not out, Nazim 3-33) by four wickets.
Gladiators beat DHL Express by four wickets due to their disciplined bowling and batting performance where everyone chipped in. DHL 186-6 (Mehbub 66, Imran 40; Iqbal 3-24) lost to Gladiators 187-6 (Waseem 38, Saif 34 n.o, Nirmal 2-29).
A late cameo with bat and three wickets by Afaq guided SAB Middle East to a 54-run victory over Ashes Bindelamah. SAB ME 163 (Afaq 28 not out; Sulfi 2-30, Shanavas 3-28) beat Ashes Bindelamah 109 (Afaq 3-33).
McDermott Arabia lost its fifth straight match going down to Toya Young Stars by just three runs. Young Stars 161 (Tahir 46; Zaid Khan 3-12, Imran 2-27, Yasir 2-28) beat McDermott Arabia 158 (Yasir 42, Subash 41; Saif, Rizwan and Aftab 2 wickets each).
