Top Gear Middle East Magazine has selected the Nissan Patrol as its “Car of the Year” for 2013. The hugely popular automotive magazine stated the Patrol was ‘the standout car' for 2013, describing it as “an incredibly capable vehicle that can be many things to different types of drivers, it can satisfy any motoring need.” Commenting on this recognition, Samir Cherfan, Managing Director at Nissan Middle East, said: “At Nissan we strive to be the best in delivering quality, efficiency, performance and safety across all our models. We maintain an open dialogue with our customers and have a strong belief in the excitement and innovation of our brand. Our customer loyalty, trust and supreme product quality are testament that the ‘Hero of all Terrain' is indeed ‘the stand out car' for 2013.” Nissan Patrol was developed specifically with the Middle East in mind with over 13,000 hours invested by Nissan engineers working in and testing prototypes in the region before its grand launch in 2010. That attention to detail has been continued for the 2014 model with customer feedback taken into consideration when deciding on enhancements. The Model Year 2014 Patrol has been introduced with refreshed looks including front and rear styling upgrades. The model also features enhanced technologies such as the latest generation Around View Monitor (AVM) with Park Assist, and Back –up Collision Intervention (BCI). Impressively, in 2013, Nissan Patrol also claimed the Guinness World Record title for ‘heaviest object pulled by a production vehicle'. — SG
