Nissan launches ‘Tiida Moments' across the region
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 21 - 09 - 2013

Countries across the Middle East were brought together in a recently unique launch event for Nissan's ‘Tiida Moments' campaign.
Selected venues in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman and Qatar were joined via live satellite link-up as Nissan's distributors simultaneously hosted VIPs, customers, media and winners of the ‘That's Tiida' social media competition. In addition to the Tiida-inspired live artwork generated at each location, the guests had the opportunity to claim their very special own ‘Tiida Moment' – the chance to win an all-new Nissan Tiida.
Samir Cherfan, Managing Director, Nissan Middle-East said: “All-new Nissan Tiida has the flair to adapt to the diverse needs of the region's hatchback buyers with its combination of dynamic styling, class leading spaciousness and advanced technology. Tiida's versatility enhances its owners' lifestyles, whether they are an aspiring young executive, budding artist or active outdoor pursuits' enthusiast. ‘Tiida Moments' encapsulates both the breadth of uses customers find for Tiida and the vibrant personality of Middle East's most popular mid-size hatchback.”
In total, the seven launch events were attended by nearly 1500 guests. At each location, statues of the ‘Tiida' name were transformed into artwork ‘live' by inspirational artists from the participating country while stilt-walkers and jugglers were among the other entertainments on hand.
Customers and guests too were able to express what ‘Tiida moments' meant to them as they embodied the spirit of the ‘Tiida moments' campaign with replacing the two II of Tiida by their inspirational iconic objects.
All-new Nissan Tiida hatchback was at the center of the show. With sleek styling, best-in-class fuel economy, class-leading interior spaciousness, advanced technology and features typically expected from far more expensive vehicles Nissan's eye-catching new hatchback is set to prove that motoring can still be fun.
Nissan Tiida hatchback, first introduced to the Middle East in 2005, made an immediate impact capturing 36 percent market share in less than two years in the Gulf region. Today, Tiida hatchback continues to lead the C- hatchback segment with 54 percent market in spite of increased competition in the Gulf. With the All-new Nissan Tiida, Nissan aims to further push this market share to more than 60 percent.
The All-new 2014 Nissan Tiida is offered in two 1.6-litre engine equipped grades – ‘S' and ‘SV' - with three 1.8-litre models – ‘SV', ‘SL' and ‘SL Plus'.
Tiida 1.6 S includes: 1.6-litre DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine, Next Generation Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Urethane steering, Power windows: Dr side one touch up/down, anti-pinch, Dual air bags, Rear windows defroster with timer, Power steering (Tilt, Telescopic), Central door locking, two speakers, Immobilizer, electronically-operated body-coloured outside mirrors, Keyless entry, Halogen lamps, 15” steel wheels with wheel covers.— SG
