Nissan delivers innovation and excitement in DIMS '13
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 09 - 11 - 2013

Nissan is delivering on its brand promise of “Innovation and Excitement” at this year's Dubai International Motor Show (DIMS) with a wide range of exhibits including the world-first reveal of refreshed 2014 model year Nissan Patrol. However, the Hero of All Terrain will be sharing the limelight with a Gold GT-R signed by Usain Bolt – Nissan's Director of Excitement, and Nissan's zero and low emission transport solutions for today and tomorrow including Nissan Pathfinder hybrid; LEAF, the world-leading all-electric vehicle; and the NV200-based “Nissan Smart Hybrid Taxi.”
Underlining the breadth of the widest product line-up in the Middle East (24 products), the stand also showcases an exciting Nissan Patrol Black Special Edition, GT-R Midnight Special Edition, Altima, Maxima, 370Z, Tiida and Sentra, among the 16 vehicles on the stand.
“Our stand at Dubai International Motor Show demonstrates our broad offering and what the future may hold for transport in the Middle East,” said Samir Cherfan, Managing Director, Nissan Middle East. “Worldwide Premiere Reveal of the new Nissan Patrol is the proof of our commitment to continue to offer this region vehicles which meet and exceed the public's expectations.”
“Nissan Patrol and GT-R are familiar icons today but Nissan is also looking to the future. Nissan Patrol Limited Edition, Pathfinder hybrid, LEAF and the ‘Nissan Smart Hybrid Taxi Concept' showcase what can be expected from Nissan as world leader in zero emission transport solutions. Nissan customers can be assured we will have the model range to suit their requirements.”
SUV fans will also have the opportunity to view ‘Hero of all Terrain' Nissan Patrol in action during the Dubai Motor Show. Recently being awarded with a Guinness World Record for the ‘Heaviest object pulled by any production vehicle', the all-new Nissan Patrol will be demonstrating drills on Kinetic, angle testing, engine break test, traction test, lateral inclination test, weigh distribution and suspension testing.
Appropriately, this will be the first public display anywhere in the world of Nissan's iconic SUV. Designed and tailored to meet the demanding expectations of the Middle East's car buying public, Nissan Patrol is a name synonymous with superior performance and luxury; a legendary off-roader capabilities. Meticulously honed for over 60 years, the Patrol is Nissan's flagship SUV model and enjoys a rich heritage and passionate followers in the Middle East. It is no small statement to say that for many owners across the Middle East, the Patrol is the vehicle that they grew up with; becoming an inseparable part of the social and cultural DNA of the region.
No compromises were made in the making of Nissan Pathfinder hybrid. Nissan undertook all the style, luxury, utility, and standard features of the Pathfinder—and there are a lot of them—and added the fuel efficiency and performance of a hybrid powertrain. Excellent fuel economy, responsive performance, and the rugged capability of true 4WD. Meet the Next Gen SUV.
The 2.5 liter 4-cylinder petrol engine is supercharged, so as it breathes in fresh air to feed the engine, it cranks out nearly the same amount of power as the standard Pathfinder with 30 percent comparative fuel economy.
Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid is accessible for only $2700 premium versus regular Pathfinder in line with Nissan's of Innovation for Everyone.
In order to create further excitement around the New Nissan Patrol, we are introducing Nissan Patrol Black Special Edition to be released only in the GCC in March. This edition is based on Patrol MY14 LE Platinum City and only 200 units will be produced.
The Nissan Patrol Limited edition is mainly characterized by a black matte exterior, matte black front grille & rear gate handle garnish, special alloy wheel – chrome plated and polish, red leather seats. — SG
