RIYADH — Saudi Arabia will mark Feb. 25 as a Day of Solidarity with Syria as part of ongoing efforts to alleviate the sufferings of children displaced by war in that Arab country. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has issued directives to mark the day at the national level, according to Interior Minister Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, who is the general supervisor of the Saudi National Campaign to Support Brothers in Syria. A major function will take place at Riyadh's King Fahd Cultural Center at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the presence of several princes, diplomats, senior government officials and representatives of international organizations as well as business leaders. Saed Al-Harthy, adviser to the minister, said donations in cash and kind can be sent to the Campaign's account (No. SA 231 00000 201 88888 000100) at the National Commercial Bank or at its warehouses in various cities. He said the Campaign has so far implemented 86 humanitarian programs and spent more than SR565 million to help the victims of the Syrian war.
