In implementation of directives of Minister of Interior Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, who is also the General Supervisor of the Saudi Popular Campaign for the Relief of Lebanese People, and within its humanitarian relief programs to alleviate the sufferings of the affected families and to assist widows and orphans, the sacrificial meat of 1000 sheep has been reserved for the needy families in Lebanon. The total cost of this sacrificial meat is estimated to be SR 825,000. The cost includes the price of the sheep, its slaughter, cutting, packing and distribution to the needy families. Adviser of Interior Minister Saed Al-Urabi Al-Harthi, who is also Chairman of the Popular Campaign for the Relief of Palestinian People, stated that this project aims to express the continuing spirit of solidarity between the Saudi and Lebanese peoples in Eid Al-Adha, and to meet the needs of several families as well as to support local farmers through the purchase of local sheep. The concerned authorities of the campaign have already started coordination with their counterparts in Lebanon to implement the Sacrificial Sheep Project which will benefit 8, 000 needy families and 30 orphanages.
