JEDDAH – The laboratories and blood banks of Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Arrayan Hospital and Al-Takhassusi Hospital obtained accreditation from the College of American Pathologist (CAP) as the first laboratories in the private sector in Riyadh. Dr.Ibrahim Al-Omar, general supervisor of group laboratories, said this great success assures the group's deep keen of applying the highest international quality standards and accuracy in all phases of the laboratory work. He added "a team of international specialists in health care field have conducted a general assessment of group laboratories of Hospital and Takhassusi Hospital in the period between 21 January to 22 January." The team consists of 7 evaluators, consultants in pathology and medical laboratories, and supervisors have been accredited as evaluators from the College of American Pathologist (CAP), he said. Dr. Al-Omar also confirmed that “the College of American Pathologist is one of the most important medical references worldwide and it applies the highest medical standers in the laboratories and healthcare field.” He further said added “the CAP evaluation program is very firm to grantee that the accredited laboratories are applying the highest International Quality Standards and accuracy in all phases. The CAP's specialist's team has examined all the medical group's lab and blood bank procedures and they have also reviewed the quality program implementation all over the past two years through 4000 quality standards/criteria for accreditation.” — SG
