RIYADH — Pakistan Ladies Club "Humnawa" organized an event last week to shed light on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) at a local restaurant here. Patron-in-chief of "Humnawa" Anila Naeem Khan, wife of Pakistan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, was the chief guest. “The entire life and teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a beacon of guidance for all of us. If we follow his teachings sincerely then we can become not only a good Muslim but a good human being also, and hence earn the pleasure of Allah.” Khan also said that more such programs should be hosted by the ladies. She further announced that the tenure of the current office bearers of "Humnawa" would be extended by a year — until February 15 after which, fresh elections would be held to get new leaders. The current office bearers of "Humnawa" are President Bilqis Safdar, Vice President Shahnaz Qureshi, General Secretary Dr. Wardah Qureshi, Finance Secretary Asiya Mahtab, Members' Secretary Imrana Humayun. The event was presided by Bilqis Safdar, president of "Humnawa." She thanked the Khan for her extending support to the ladies group. Itwas moderated by Dr. Wardah Qureshi, general secretary of "Humnawa." The program commenced with a recitation of a few verses from the Qur'an by "Humnawa" member Shazia Khalid. Naat was presented by Uzma and Muna Qureshi. Shanza Qureshi presented a brief talk on the benefits of reciting Durood. Dr. Arjumand Warsi through a PowerPoint presentation spoke about important aspects in the life of the Prophet (PBUH). Women from all walks of life attended the event, including Lubna Khayyam, Aisha Hammad, Aniqa Bajwa, Shahida, Sara Asad, Anisa Mujahid, Maimoona Ahmed, Dr. Nigar Khalid and Fouzia Butt.
