RIYADH – The Shoura Council has approved a proposal to amend Article 16 of the Government Tenders and Procurement Law that aimed at removing the obstacles in implementing government projects. The proposal was presented by Shoura member Saad Mareq. Fahad Al-Hamad, Assistant President of the Council, said that the Council listened to a report from the Finance Committee with regard to the proposal. Taking part in deliberations, several members underlined the need for making amendments in the law so as to address the issue of stalled projects that hamper the overall development. The amendments aimed at addressing the technical and administrative lacuna in the current law.
