JEDDAH — The Ministry of Health has approved the recommendations of committees monitoring medical violations to impose fines worth SR105,000 on four pharmacies for violating regulations. The fines include a SR15,000 fine for a pharmacy in Jazan for lacking a necessary license and for providing housing to the pharmacist inside its premises. A pharmacy in Jeddah was fined SR35,000 for stocking expired medicines and employing a pharmacist without the necessary licenses. A pharmacy in Taif was fined SR35,000 for selling beauty products that had no expiry date as well as some unregistered products. In addition, a pharmacy warehouse in Riyadh was fined SR30,000 as the warehouse manager's license had expired and the warehouse had not properly followed instructions for storing products. The ministry said that it would take all necessary measures to ensure that medical establishment abide by regulations otherwise they would face penalties that may include closure.
